Ms. Tauseef Hyat joined Developments in Literacy in the year 2001. As the Executive Director, she is responsible for overseeing all the activities undertaken by the DIL office in Pakistan - teacher training, monitoring of projects, disbursement of funds to projects, and daily communication with the NGOs and on location staff.
Ms. Hyat has over thirty years experience in the teaching and administrative areas of the Educational sector. As Chief Executive of Toy Crafts, Lahore, she set up a workshop to manufacture educational aids and creative toys for young children under the brand name of Toy Crafts.
Ms. Hyat was the principal of Kon Tiki Primary School from 1977 to 1989. In 1990, she served as Assistant Director at the Ali Institute of Education, one of the first private sector teacher training institutes to be set up for promoting excellence at primary levels. Being involved with the setting up of a new institute meant both administrative work, establishing linkages with schools, organizing the Teacher Practice Program and conducting workshops for teachers and school administrators.
Ms. Hyat has done her Masters in Education from the University of Warwick, England.
