Boy Succeeds in School Despite the Odds
Born in extreme poverty to an illiterate father and a deaf and mute mother, Muhammad Tayyab had a lot going against him, but when a DIL-ABES school was established in his village, Khinger Khurd, Rawalpindi, his life changed. At the age of 10, he joined school along with his two younger siblings and proved to be a dedicated student. Muhammad made his parents and teachers extremely proud last year when he secured third position in the Rawalpindi Government Primary Board Exam.
Here is what Muhammad has to say about his achievements: “The school environment motivated me to take a keen interest in my studies and the activity-based learning cleared the concepts effectively. The regular use of library books strengthened my reading and writing skills and improved my creative abilities.”
His parents have high hopes for his future.
