In 2006, overall teachers had 95% attendance and students’ attendance was 91%. This school has grades kindergarten, one and two. The Field Promoter, Ms. Shabana Arain, visits this school at least twice a month and she helps the teacher regularly in preparing lesson plans and teaching materials. The teacher meets regularly with mothers to discuss student health and attendance.
The Community-Based Organization (CBO) members have been active in expanding the school to account for enrollment increases. CBO members have been communicating with parents to encourage them to send their children on to third grade at the model school. On August 14, in commemoration of Independence Day, the CBO members arranged with the teacher a theater performance that the children performed to their parents.
