In 2006, overall teachers had 98% attendance and students’ attendance was 91%. This school has grades kindergarten, one and two. The Field Promoter, Ms. Naheed Chana, visits this school at least twice a month and reports that the teacher was struggling to effectively teach English and Math. Ms. Chana has been working very closely with the teacher. Ms. Chana has helped her make and utilize flash cards in the classroom and has assisted her in developing activities to teach counting, adding and subtracting. Ms. Chana also helps the teacher with her English and Sindhi instruction as needed.
The teacher has held meetings with the children’s mothers and the Community-Based Organization (CBO) to help them focus on improving the students’ health and cleanliness.
