In 2006, overall teachers had 96% attendance and students’ attendance was 94%. This school has grades kindergarten, one and two. The Field Promoter, Ms. Shamshad Chana, visits this school at least twice a month and reports that the students’ confidence levels are high and that they try to speak English sentences and words often. The teacher encourages the students to create their own games and materials and demonstrate them in the classroom. She also emphasizes they focus on their speaking and writing skills. The teacher is working also on instructing the Sindhi alphabet to her students. All eight students from grade two moved onto the Sagyoon Model School.
Ms. Chana holds meetings with the Community-Based Organization (CBO) members to discuss school matters and students’ performance and attendance. The community also contributed by white washing the school.
