We at DIL extend the greatest appreciation to our supporters for their amazing efforts during this summer’s catastrophic flooding. DIL raised almost $100,000 in the United States.
With this outpouring of support, DIL was able to:
- Repair six DIL schools damaged by the rains
- Provide immediate emergency aid: food, infant formula, and hygiene kits (soaps, clothing, mosquito nets)
- Reconstruct houses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
- Create three medical camps in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
- Begin rebuilding and/or repairing five schools in Jamshoro and Dadu to support 620 students and 32 teachers
- Begin helping up to four villages in Khairpur by rebuilding homes and restoring water and sanitation
- Help farmers restore flooded land so crops can be grown again.
Unfortunately, 8,000 schools across Pakistan were destroyed. So the urgency and need for DIL schools, which serve as a hopeful anchor for our students and their families, has never been greater.
Education is the only solution to Pakistan’s long-term stability and prosperity. Thank you again for supporting our cause!
