Building Friendships

Girls Learn International (GLI) pairs American schools with schools in countries where girls have traditionally been denied access to education.  In 2009, GLI partnered 5 schools in the US with 4 DIL schools. The students in this program take part in numerous exchanges that includes sharing letters, scrapbooks and craft projects. This year, students from the Academy of St. Elizabeth exchanged friendship bracelets for embroidered shirts  made by the students of DIL Sagyoon school.  These exchanges help foster greater understanding and compassion between two different cultures.
