Pulitzer-prize winning writer for The New York Times, Nicholas Kristof, in his December 23rd column “A Most Meaningful Gift Idea,” encourages his readers to donate to organizations that “tackle global poverty in innovative ways.” He credits DIL for building “terrific modern schools in Pakistan, particularly for girls” and utilizing “the transformative power of education” to counteract extremism. Kristof’s endorsement raised over $131,000 for DIL.

In her new book, Give A Little, author Wendy Smith profiles DIL as one of 47 nonprofits working to alleviate world poverty. Smith's goal is to inform donors about the impact of individual giving.
