Afreen: Harvard Graduate
In May 2025, Afreen Mushtaq graduated from Harvard University with a Master’s in Education Policy and Analysis—a powerful milestone in a journey that began in one of Karachi’s most underserved neighborhoods.
Afreen spent 12 formative years at a DIL school in Orangi Town, where her talent and determination were nurtured. With the support of dedicated educators and her own relentless drive, she earned a full scholarship to IBA Karachi, one of Pakistan’s top business schools. In 2024, she became a Fulbright Scholar, gaining admission to Harvard.
A vocal advocate for girls’ education, Afreen was named one of Pakistan’s 25 Most Influential Young Women. She inspired audiences with her TEDx talk, “Fly I Must,” and continues to champion the power of education.
